SOCIAL CHANGE

LCCA Kenya is creating an enabling environment that respect fundamental rights and promote positive social change and help communities realize their desired dreams and aspirations.

ENVIRONMENT

LCCA Kenya has observed the climatic changes in Kenya and across East Africa that has led to more frequent droughts. These have caused wild animals, such as lions and elephants, to wander further in search of water and food. Lions have then come into conflict with humans when they kill sheep and goats in the Maasai villages near the national parks. Elephants have also been known to trample food crops when searching for food and water.

CULTURE

Living cultures is a new concept that holistically addresses the protection of Indigenous natural and cultural resources. It combines nature with culture; takes into consideration the past, the present, and the future; and values and special Indigenous elements that are indispensable to the diversity of our universe.
    MISSION

The establishment of LCCA Kenya will enable indigenous communities to promote their bio-cultural rights and support them to be economically and culturally resilient, capable of managing their land systems and biodiversity.  By building this solid base, providing leadership, technical and facilitative support, and using Participatory Video, LCCA will create a space to connect all indigenous communities and enable them to gain influence on climate issues affecting them, maintain their languages and use indigenous knowledge systems to manage their lands, social change and shape their future.

    VISION

LCCA Kenya at the regional level will establish a bigger living culture center where people meet to discuss climate development issues, bio-cultural security and social change impacts on the same as well as show case their approaches.

    OBJECTIVE

Our overall objective is to promote culture and climate adaptations in Kenya and beyond.
